Door County rehab–

BOOM!  A friend of ours is refurbishing a place called Chateau Hutter up here in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, which is in the famous Door County section of the state.  Door County is known for delicious cherries–the best that I have ever tasted, wonderful summer homes on the water–sort of like the Hamptons of Wisconsin but much lower-key, and for grand farms and open spaces that are great for relaxing and contemplating the mysteries of the universe. . .mmm, aaahh!  We are honored to have the opportunity to spend time up here with our friend.

Chateau Hutter was built by a dude called John Hutter about 80 years ago or so.  It has a bit of an infamous reputation as Mr. Hutter engaged in many fights with local community members to get it built.  He won the battle to have it built, but then the vengefulness of his neighbors came through as they blocked all efforts on his part to advertise the resort in local rags, blocked all attempts on his part to expand the property, and eventually the business dried up.  Our friend’s father acquired the entire 90 acre property after Mr. Hutter gave up on it.  He then engaged in various battles with the locals as well–won a few, lost a few–and the business went nowhere under his supervision–though he did manage to build a cozy house up on a bluff that overlooks the whole property–magnifico!

Our friend’s father recently passed, and now it is up to her to make good things happen here and rebuild goodwill with the local community members. . .we are confident that she will succeed because her intentions are good, her will is strong, and she is full of positivity and magic.
