Le Dome…Le WOW!–

Tasty start.
This’ll do.
Bouillabaisse bonanza.
Mille feuille magic.
We shall return.

WOW! We love gobbling fruits of the sea, and Le Dome in the Montparnasse section of Paris delivers the goods…let’s check it out.

As soon as we are seated in the magnificent dining area we are welcomed with a tasty fish dip snack on a lovely piece of lettuce–mmm, aaaahh!

Then we get busy with champagne…slurrrrrp…

…then we order up the grand Dome plateau…MAJOR GOBBLE…

…then we do the bouillabaisse…INHALE…

…then we do a slice of the mille feuille…airy and delectable.

All of this is washed down with a lovely bottle of pouilly fuisse…good choice!

Le Dome is a classic seafood brasserie joint in the same vicinity as The Dingo, La Coupole, La Rotonde, etc….all places that were frequented by F. Scott, Hemingway, Picasso, etc. and so on way back in the days of classic writers and artists traipsing about town here, there and everywhere having the time of their lives.

We are honored by the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of so many folks before us who have lunched and dined sipping beverages and ingesting tasty grub while doing their best to enjoy the passage of time.

These places are still great…Montparnasse is a fabulous neighborhood…get on over here whenever you can and soak it all up. . .time is short, gotta enjoy everything NOW.

I send you nutritious vibes from Le Dome and its immediate environs…feel them…they will help you grow big and strong.

It’s lovely out there.

Lunch at The Silver Tower–

Your welcome mat.
Fish foam on fish crudo…delectable!
Foie gras and artichoke…mmhhmm!
Roasted fish, caviar, tasty sauces…WOW!
Bird: white meat, dark meat, magic sauce…jaaa!
Cheese, greens…I couldn’t wait.
Dessert topped with silver leaf…GOBBLE!

Lunch at Tour d’Argent in Paris is wonderful…it’s like eating in a magicland…what an honor to have the opportunity to do this during these kooky times–WOW!

My wife and I love this joint…and for this meal–a xmas lunch–we scarf down fish crudo, foie gras, roasted fish, roasted white meat and dark meat of some tasty bird, cheese and a delightful dessert topped with silver leaf in homage to the restaurant name: The Silver Tower.

The building we sit in has been serving food for over 400 years…EVERYONE has eaten here, strolled the streets of this neighborhood, walked along the Seine, gazed at Notre Dame Cathedral, etc. and emitted “oooos” and “aaahs” in response to the good grub, amazing sights and overall joy at being alive to experience these things.

This building and the establishment inside have survived revolutions, invasions, pandemics, upheavals and so much more, and humans have simply dusted themselves off through it all and moved upward and onward.

We will all do the same now…no matter how ‘bad’ things seem to be there is always a light at the end of the tunnel…always. We will get to the light…then there will be more turmoil and upheaval, another light, more turmoil, another light, etc. and so on. . .around and around this goes, and where this all stops nobody knows.

All I know is this: as long as Tour d’Argent exists and there is always the possibility of one more meal here, then all is good–mmmm, aaaaahh!

I send you soothing vibes from this fabulous dining joint…feel them…they can help you breath easy.

It’s lovely out there.

Three squares a day…too much? Discuss–

Breakfast.
Lunch.
Dinner.

Some say that we are supposed to eat three meals each day…breakfast, lunch, dinner.

I am happy with one really good meal each day supplemented by tasty snacks before and after this meal.

But sometimes we gotta dive in whole hog or cow or chicken or fish and do all three just for kicks. So here we go:

Breakfast–soft-boiled eggs, croissants, baguettes, cheese, ham, butter, jam and yogurt all washed down with fresh orange juice and coffee with hot milk.

Lunch–crab torta, oysters (not pictured) and baguettes washed down with dry white wine.

Dinner–perusal of giant wine list searching for a tasty pouilly fuisse used to wash down cod foam croquette, foie gras and artichoke, fish, chicken, cheese, greens and a mousse (all not pictured because all in our bellies).

WOW, we are full. . .time for a big nap and then maybe a late-night snack–BAM!

Please don’t do this every day…I know that we won’t…but when things are kooky, and you feel like flying in the face of it all, well, just go right on ahead…none of us will think badly of you–jaaaa!

I send you indulgent vibes from some hotels and dining joints oot-n-aboot. . .feel them. . .they will make your heart go pitter-patter.

It’s lovely out there.

Snacks ‘n’ wine…oh so fine–

Snacks from the sea.
Snacks from the farm.
Butter makes all better.

BOOM! L’avant Comptoir is still serving up goodness in the midst of the pandemic ridiculousness…just get all of your shots and tests and documents in order, and you will be welcomed with open arms–jaaaa!

We have the seafood joint and the meat joint both operating full-on. . .EVERYTHING served in both of these places is top-notch, delicious and good for you. Plus, you get a bit of an education in organic wines–aka, Bio–grown and produced without unnecessary pesticides and chemicals…all are extremely tasty and flow down one’s gullet like soft butter oozing into the deepest crevices of a warm croissant–mmmm, aaaahh!

Time is short…enjoy everything that you can NOW! The whites, the reds, the shellfish, the ham, the pickles, the bread, the butter…all of it…

…I send you soothing vibes from a wonderful food counter somewhere in Paris…feel them…they will make you grin like a grinning fool.

It’s lovely out there.
