Happy Halloween…

DSCN6958 DSCN6846 DSCN6803 DSCN6754…from all around our topsy-turvy world.  The scariest costume I can sometimes come up with is a suit and tie, which I occasionally have to don from time to time–boo!  Oooo, scary!!

Lots of folks think that the world is a scary place.  I don’t see it this way.  The world–planet Earth–is a lovely thing, and it must be appreciated each and every day.  The thing that is scary is the way humans go about existing in the world. . .on the planet.  The scariest costume that one can wear today is just everyday clothes representing a typical person doing typical things that involve greed or repression or judgement or exclusion or insult or injury of any sort be it physical or psychological.  So, go ahead and ‘celebrate’ Halloween in whatever way that you do, but tomorrow let us all see if we can be a little less scary in our regular daily existence.  Salut!

I send you spooky vibes from Istanbul, Seoul, and Lima. . .feel them. . .they are not as scary as some other vibes out there.

Lovely Lima–

DSCN6741 DSCN6743 DSCN6755 DSCN6754BOOM!  Lima, Peru, baby!!  The central town square is totally chill and worthy of a leisurely stroll.  Churches, Spanish-style architecture with a tinge of Incan flavor, lots of places to sip on Pisco Sours, and even more places to gobble the Peruvian national dish: ceviche. . .mmmm, aaaaahh!  In addition, there are lots of old neighborhoods to explore–and beaches too as Lima is located right on the coast of Peru with wonderful access to the glorious Pacific Ocean.  I love hangin’ in Lima, and I know that you will too if you ever find yourself in the capital of Peru lookin’ to cool yer jets.  Does anyone say that anymore?–too bad if they don’t.  Salut!

I send you easygoin’ vibes from Lima, Peru. . .feel them. . .they will help you ease into the weekend real smooth-like.

Meat market Monday–

DSCN6073DSCN6070 IMG_0138POW!  Pork and chicken provide great fuel for traipsing through the Andes while searching for Machu Picchu.  I love bacon and pork belly and chicarrones and fried pig’s ears and sausages and chicken wings and roast chicken and garlicky chicken and chicken soup.  You will love these things too if you ever find yourself wandering around down here in Peru with an empty belly.

I send you nutritional vibes from the Salkantay Trail in Peru. . .feel them. . .they will get you where you’re goin’.
