WWII ended 70 years ago today–

DSCN1212DSCN9878  DSCN9859DSCN9867BOOM!  September 2, 1945 was a busy day in history.  World War II officially ended on this day seventy years ago when Japan signed surrender documents on a U.S. ship sitting in the sea somewhere.  There was joy, devastation, relief, and bitterness in various places all over our planet, but I bet that somewhere someone was celebrating the end of this conflict by eating a giant crab. . .and I bet that somewhere else other folks were celebrating by eating some of the most delicious grub known to mankind. . .and all the while, no matter what is happening with us humans anywhere, the sun keeps rising and setting over gorgeous bays.  Things keep changing and yet things keep remaining the same. . .fascinating.

I send you gloriously delectable celebratory vibes from various locales. . .feel them. . .they are full of light and nutrition.

Sip and gobble it all–

DSCN9592 DSCN9593  DSCN9594DSCN9577The globe can be a nasty and troubling place–ooooh yes it can. . .and one way to counter the negativity is to focus on the positivity–specifically, all of the good stuff around us available for sipping and gobbling, AND the cool people we run into while doing these fun things.  San Sebastian continues to be at the top of our list of fabulous places full of wonderful sipables and gobbleables and cool people.

Above you see us enjoying the nectar of San Sebastian, the Basque wine known as Txakoli. . .also you see a partial menu of pintxos–the Basque word for ‘tapas’–that are available in a lovely establishment called La Cepa. . .we are working hard to gobble most, if not all, of these items, for they are all delectable.  And after the menu you see me admiring a serving of Jamon Iberico (Iberian Ham) with a local lady.  Iberian Ham is quite possibly the most delicious ham on Earth, and there ain’t no local lady gonna scam me outta my ham–mmmm, aaaahh!  Damn, so much to eat and drink and enjoy here, and soooo little time. . .we gotta get busy–ciao for now.

I send you tasty vibes from San Sebastian–the heart of Basque country. . .feel them. . .they are good for your circulation.

See you–

DSCN9713Time for a final sip of an adult beverage here in San Sebastian, Spain.  As I walk around this town I reflect on existence, the arc of my existence, and I feel lucky, honored, and somewhat contented–never fully contented cuz there is always more to do, see, and learn.

Everything is a mystery–the universe, matter, our solar system, our planet, continents, oceans, animals, humans, countries, cities, seeing, hearing, breathing–all amazing and mysterious.  The only thing I know for sure is this: it’s fun being a part of it all for our short time.  Fun makes everything good. . .so, let’s continue having fun. . .cuz if we are not having fun, then what the heck are we doing here?

I send you vibes of joy from the bottom of my sippy cup straight to you. . .feel them. . .they make everything better.
