Do something nice today–

DSCN6493 DSCN6424 DSCN6419 IMG_03359-11-15.  Today is a day for gazing out at the mountains before you. . .today is a day for holding a loved-one close. . .today is a day for smelling a gorgeous flower. . .today is a day for getting up close to the cloudy and mysterious existence that we are all a part of and saying, “Hello, cloudy mysterious existence. . .I want to know you as deeply as I can. . .that’s why I am diving into you yet again. . .you are bittersweet and spectacular, and I cherish you.  Can’t wait to see what you have for us to experience today. . .we can handle anything that comes our way from you–jaaaa!”

I send you gracious and joyous vibes from the Salkantay Trail down here in Peru. . .feel them. . .they are a fine antidote for a day like this.

Machu Picchu! Gezundheit.

DSCN6681DSCN6548 DSCN6539DSCN6601BAM!  Yes, it is the spiritual center of the ancient Incas, Machu Picchu.  Phew!  So happy that we made it here.  What a lovely walk through the Andes Mountains for 5 days or so on the Salkantay Trail. . .what a glorious destination after hiking through the rain and the mud and the cool breezes. . .what a soothing feeling to know that we will restore ourselves each night in a cozy mountain lodge as we make our way to this hallowed spot. . .what a joy to be alive and have the opportunity to experience everything that is good here in the center of modern-day Peru.  If you are thinking about an adventure for later this year, then I strongly recommend that you consider a visit to Machu Picchu.  Whichever route you take, however you get here, whoever you travel with. . .none of it matters. . .you will have a time of your life if you make the effort to visit–I gar-ron-taaaaayy!  Cheers!!

I send you spectacular vibes from Machu Picchu. . .feel them. . .they will always be here waiting to fill you with vitality and magic.

Lovely Lima–

DSCN6741 DSCN6743 DSCN6755 DSCN6754BOOM!  Lima, Peru, baby!!  The central town square is totally chill and worthy of a leisurely stroll.  Churches, Spanish-style architecture with a tinge of Incan flavor, lots of places to sip on Pisco Sours, and even more places to gobble the Peruvian national dish: ceviche. . .mmmm, aaaaahh!  In addition, there are lots of old neighborhoods to explore–and beaches too as Lima is located right on the coast of Peru with wonderful access to the glorious Pacific Ocean.  I love hangin’ in Lima, and I know that you will too if you ever find yourself in the capital of Peru lookin’ to cool yer jets.  Does anyone say that anymore?–too bad if they don’t.  Salut!

I send you easygoin’ vibes from Lima, Peru. . .feel them. . .they will help you ease into the weekend real smooth-like.

Stonework of the ancients–

DSCN6598 DSCN6603 DSCN6607 DSCN6610The ruins of Machu Picchu sit in the open air deep in the Andes Mountains of Peru.  These structures have been here for over five hundred years. . .out in the open, connected to nature, available for anyone and everyone to walk through while breathing fresh air, feeling the mountain breezes, absorbing the occasional rains that drop on us. . .but the 9-11 museum in New York City is deep under ground “next to bedrock.”  Why underground?  Why buried away?  The place feels like Justinian’s sisterns in Istanbul–cave-like, crypt-like. . .hidden away from the sun.  The Incas loved the sun. . .revered the sun. . .too bad that all places and all peoples don’t let the sun in. . .too bad.

I send you resilient and skillful vibes from the stones of Machu Picchu. . .feel them. . .they are of and for nature.

Hat and a Porky–

IMG_0060DSCN5971BAM!  A hat and a porky from Cusco, Peru are exactly what I need as the cold returns to New York City for a final–we hope–burst of winter.  The alpaca hat is quite warm, and the Peruvian pork is quite tasty. . .I want them both RIGHT NOW because the wind is howling, the wind-chill is in single digits, and my fingertips are numb.  Enough of the brutal cold. . .bring on the brutal heat. . .mmmm, aaaaahh!

I send you all warm and tasty vibes from Cusco. . .feel them. . .they are good for you.

Center of the Universe–

DSCN6679DSCN6698POW!  Here I am channeling good vibes at the Incan center of the universe otherwise known as a big stone called Intihuatana–The Hitching Post of the Sun.  This is one of the most powerful spots in the ruins of Machu Picchu. . .the Spaniards destroyed all of these stones when they found them in an effort to break the Incas out of their ‘primitive’ mythological beliefs–as if Christianity is any less primitive–funny.  The Spanish never found this hitching post, and it survives to this day.  Jaaaa!  I love the Intihuatana, and you will too if you ever find yourself wandering through the ruins of Machu Picchu.

I send you focused vibes from Peru. . .feel them. . .they are as valid as any other vibes the universe has to offer.
