Strolling in Paris–

History EVERYWHERE here…Henry IV stabbed in chest near this spot in 1610.
Exact spot of Henry IV assassination? Possibly. Sit for coffee and discuss, if you like.
Canal Saint-Martin…fascinating engineering marvel in town…check it out.
Rue Saint-Dominique always makes us go, “WOW!”

I think we could stroll around in this town forever and ever…or at least until our strolling days come to an end.

As you know…or as you might have heard…or as someone has told you…or as you might have read, Paris is a gorgeous city…really gorgeous. Beautiful buildings are everywhere, something historic seems to have happened on every corner…there is a ton of great stuff to eat and drink and smell and see and hear and touch. . .absolutely amazing.

All you have to do is walk around, and you start seeing amazing stuff…no need to book tickets to a show, no need to wait in line to enter a museum or shop or historic structure.

Just stroll along, look at stuff and let your imagination run wild…

…this is all you gotta do to enjoy this town…

…oh, and have at least one glass of champagne every day–mmm, aaaah!…

…but I digress…back on topic.

As you see above, you can find assassination spots or engineering marvels or sweet streets with views that make you sigh with joy at the beauty, etc.

Come to Paris…it was here long before us, and it will be here long after us…

…she wants to see you just for a bit…

…then you can move on.

She will most definitely move on…

…with or without you.

It’s lovely out there.

Windsurfing and rainbows–

WOWEEWOWOW!

The sun keeps comin’ up…the wind keeps blowin’…the water keeps churnin’…and time keeps on tickin’ tickin’ tickin’ into the future. . .mmmm, aaaaahh.

Nature rules all.

We puny humans often forget this.

14 billion years of stuff preceded us and another 14 billion years of stuff will succeed us. . .where all of this stops or goes nobody knows.

Enjoy all that you can…be nice to everyone you encounter…and keep looking toward the light and rainbows–they are some of the best things we got.

It’s lovely out there.

Lock it down and EAT IT–

KAZOOMY!  Things are slowly reopening…tables are widely spread…masks are worn when moving about…hands are washed often…faces are not touched…and the grub is as delicious as ever…mmmm, aaaaaahh!

We got grilled octopus, grilled spiny lobster with orzo, fried whole branzino, fried whole red snapper, sorbets of chocolate and cinnamon, and ice cream of pistachio. . .

. . .wash all of this goodness down with glasses of sangria, margaritas and bottles of whites from Greece and Italy, and we are good-to-go…very-good-to-go indeed!

It’s important to keep your energy up and your nutrition flowing as societal events continue to churn and froth.

The chaotic universe has been chaotic for some 14 billion years…it is chaotic now…it will continue to be chaotic some 14 billion more. . .so enjoy the ride as much as you can during your short and puny time here.

I send you peaceful and tasty vibes from some dining spots in coastal North America…feel them…they can help you stay fit and focused.

It’s lovely out there.

Full moon, baby–

MMM!  The moon is full, the sea is calm and the breezes are soothing. . .there is magic in the air tonight.

As time ticks on and on we continue to feel gratitude for simply existing…simply being.

Things feel a bit kooky at the moment, but as we continually study history we see that things have been much worse during many past decades and centuries…and humans have continued to thrive while moving upward and onward through it all.  And it will be same now and beyond as well.

Humans are resilient little buggers…humans continually survey the landscape and adapt to ever-changing events and surroundings.  We have no choice…we adapt or whither away.

So, keep knowing that all kooky things, too, shall pass…humans will weather all that is thrown at them, and while doing so we will continue to gaze at the sea and the moon and the clouds and the stars and go, “aaaaaahh.”

I send all of you forward-looking vibes. . .feel them. . .they will help you sleep well tonight and every night.

It’s lovely out there.

Always smell the flowers–

HEY!  Always smell the flowers no matter where you are…always.

You could be toolin’ around in Tennessee or Georgia or Kentucky or Florida or wherever, and there will always be time to stop and smell some fragrant flowers. . .

. . .or time to take in a magnificent vista. . .

. . .or time to admire a sweet sunrise or sunset. . .

. . .or time to simply be…BE…HERE…NOW.

It’s September 2020–we made it!–and no matter what turmoil may be affecting you or surrounding you or on your mind at the moment, there will always be fragrant flowers to smell, lively sounds to enjoy and glorious vistas to appreciate.

I send you tremendously uplifting vibes from a few of the highways and byways of ‘merica. . .feel them. . .they will help you go, “aaahhhhhh!”

It’s lovely out there.

August: chill time–

MM-HHMMMM!  The animals know what to do when things get hot and steamy: just find a spot to sit and relax and breathe a little. . .that’s all we gotta do right now.

The iguana perches on the back of a chair and says, “aaahhhhh.”

The black bird or crow or whatever this dude is perches on a balcony post and says, “mmmmm.”

The human perches on a cushy chair and says, “cheers!”

We are all gonna get through this global pandemic just fine, methinks.  Keep wearing your masks, washing your hands, and social distancing. . .the clinical researchers of the world are working on creating a vaccine…multiple vaccines will probably come out of this work…all we gotta do is chill–it’ll all be better before you know it.

We send you soothing and relaxing and uplifting vibes from coastal North America…feel them…they are good for your well-being.

It’s still lovely out there.

Beach, pizza, views and love–

KABAMMY!  The lockdown is continuing somewhere on the eastern coast of North America…mmmm, aaaaahh!

We got a little beachiness…we got some tasty pizza…we got some good sunrise views…and we got love–lotsa love.

The globe is still a magical place even though there is unrest and injustice and turmoil happening at the moment…but humans will figure this thing out, as they always do…they will bump into each other, talk about and at and over and around and with each other, they will bumble and tumble toward some kind of plan for moving forward, and magic will pop up and continue in surprising bits and spurts as time marches upward and onward.

The ocean continues to ebb and flow, the sun continues to rise and set, and humans continue to fall and get up in our ongoing evolution toward. . .toward. . .who-knows-what–soooooo. . .

. . .do whatever you can to help, donate to helpful and vital organizations, think good thoughts, commit good actions, send out positive vibes, focus on the little things you can control, and keep on keepin’ on.

I send you all soothing vibes from coastal North America…feel them…they can help us all see a more tolerant path forward.

It’s lovely though uneasy out there.

Midwest sunsets–

img_0403 img_0402 img_0405 img_0404MMM!  We tool around out here in the midwest of the United States with sights like these greeting us nearly every day. . .quite magical some times–woweewowow!

Pinks, purples, oranges, yellows, blues, etc.. . .what the hell are we doin’ on this big chunk of rock floating on the edge of the 14-billion-light-year vastness of the universe?  I really don’t care what we are doing here…all I know is that it is good to continue to embrace gratitude for the opportunity to be here to see any of this at all. . .we are honored to be here, and we are doing our best to soak it all up right NOW…cuz where it all goes or ends, nobody knows.

I send you in-the-moment vibes from the rolling hills of southwestern Wiskonsen. . .feel them. . .they will make you go, “aaaahhh!!”

Day 20…DFW layover–

IMG_0003IMG_0001IMG_0002Gotta use those frequent-flyer miles some time. . .why not on a two-leg journey to Hong Kong via Dallas-Fort Worth?  Okeedokee. . .as long as we get to sleep in a comfy bed along the way. . .mmm, aaaahh!  Plus, the room service here is quick, efficient, and tasty. . .we inhale a BBQ brisket quesadilla, a spicy grilled chicken sandwich, and a wedge salad WITH BACON–helpin’ us sleep real good. . .a big Texas-style sleep. . .a longhorn sleep. . .a sleep for the ages–or at least a sleep until our plane leaves in just a few hours.

Out here on the road we get many moments to cherish being alive. . .to cherish having the opportunity to bop around the planet. . .and to embrace the mystery of all this existence stuff.  David Brooks writes in The New York Times today that it is wonderful to get to know one’s self even more by releasing all of the material things one doesn’t really need. . .we say “yes” to that as we move along with two duffle bags and two back packs full of all of our ‘essentials’ that we will somehow survive with over the next three months.  “Ha-ha-haaaa”. . .we laugh in the face of all unnecessary stuff. . .upward and onward!!

Anyway, if you need a place to rest while makin’ yer way through DFW Airport, then you will like the DFW Hyatt. . .do what you gotta do, then get on outta here. . .that’s my recommendation.

I send you nomadically restful vibes from the DFW Hyatt. . .feel them. . .they are basic and good.
