Damn, it’s pleasant here–

DSCN5480 DSCN5574 DSCN5472 DSCN5474Hanging out in Uppsala, Sweden is easy and relaxing and chilled-out and DAMN PLEASANT, which means it can all be just a bit boring.  This, I suspect, is why the folks here drink so much beer. . .I mean these folks drink A LOT of beer.  This is a university town. . .I am sure this contributes to the large consumption of brewed beverages as well, but to whatever causes all of the sipping that I am experiencing here I simply say, thank you.  Thank you for the glorious landscapes, the quaint squares, the soothing canals, the sweet people, the well-organized town layout, the tasty grub, and the free-flowing pub scene.  Thank you for it all Uppsala. . .I love hanging out here, and you will too if you ever find yourself doing studies here or randomly lost about an hour’s drive north of Stockholm.

I send you well-lubricated vibes from Uppsala. . .feel them. . .they will help you get through your day.

The E.U. rocks!

DSCN1951 DSCN4338 DSCN5529JAAA!  Here I am hanging out in Istanbul-Turkey, Sofia-Bulgaria, and Uppsala-Sweden. . .some wannabe members of the E.U. and one or two current members–I can’t keep track of who’s in and who’s out these days.  These are all wonderful places, and I say “ef you” to anyone who says “ef the E.U.”  It’s so fun, isn’t it?, when folks get caught saying undesirable things in supposedly “private conversations.”  News flash–there is no such thing as a private conversation when you are using a government phone to discuss government business.  Everyone should always be putting their best foot forward when at work. . .please, save the pseudo-tough and -world-weary and -sassy comments for the privacy of your own home when you are surrounded by those closest to you.  I love the E.U. and anyone who is trying to join the E.U., and you will too if you ever find yourself wandering around anywhere in Europe.

I send you effing wonderful vibes from Istanbul, Sofia, and Uppsala. . .feel them. . .they are full of cooperative and collaborative energy.

Uppsala yours–

DSCN5480DSCN5518DSCN5529HEJ!  I have to admit that I do not see a lot of tourists in Uppsala, Sweden, but there is a tourism office here so what do I know?  Not a lot, most definitely.  Nevertheless, Uppsala is clearly a vibrant place with a super-chilled attitude–it’s a major college town with lots of students running around–fabulous!  Especially enjoy checking out the wonderful Church of Sweden and its beautiful organ. . .mmmmm, aaaah.  I love the church organs of the world, and I especially love the church organ here in Uppsala.

I send you easy-going vibes from Uppsala. . .feel them. . .they are subtly invigorating.

Fyris River–

DSCN5610 DSCN5608The Fyris River runs through the center of Uppsala, Sweden, and it is extremely quaint and cozy.  This place is totally chilled out.  I could attend the university here with no problem.  I am honored to share this place and these views with you.

It’s funny, I am not feeling the need to do much of anything while I am here.  It is easy to just “be” here.

I am sure that there are more interesting facts that I could find to share with you about Uppsala.  If you want to learn more, then feel free to Google this place and see what’s what.  I’m gonna chill.

Who-what?–

DSCN5554I love the words for ‘hospital’ around the world.  This is my second favorite–Swedish. . .sick-house!  Not sick as in “that house is gorgeous;”  rather, sick as in “dude, you’re turning green.”  Sick.  Ja?  Ja.

Of course, the world champion of words for hospital is the German: “krankenhaus.”  Kranken–no mistaking here. . .if you are kranken, then you must be sick–green–not sick, gorgeous.  Ya folla?  I know you do.

It’s lovely out there.

Readin’ n writin’–

DSCN5546 DSCN5545Now that is a university flag. . .the globe inside our glowing sun on a field of vibrant red–fabulous.  Without the sun we are nothing.  Without education we are next to nothing.  Uppsala University understands. . .we should, too.

I send you vibes of learning and understanding. . .feel them. . .they are necessary.

It’s sometimes smart out there.

Uppsala Cathedral–

DSCN5493DSCN5499Uppsala Cathedral dates back to the 13th century–though this version was built in the 15th century.  It is the tallest church building in Scandinavia, and it is the main sight in town.  Quite impressive.

I am honored to be here checking it out.  Fortunately, I have a sunny day because the air is a bit crisp.  No worries, I will survive.

I love all of the churches of Europe. . .they all carry mucho history and are full of the vibes of millions of people who have paid their respects to their versions of the life force.  We have to respect them all.  If only everyone everywhere did. . .

It’s lovely out there.

Uppsala, Sweden–

DSCN5480 DSCN5472POW!  Here I am in Uppsala, Sweden.  What am I doing here?  Working. . .again.

This place is totally quaint, cozy, clean, and organized.  I love it here, but I could never live here.

Everyone is sweet, friendly, and helpful.  In fact, it is a university town so there are lots of students around and lots of pubs to accommodate the students.  The pubs are a pleasant distraction from all of the order.  Plus, Swedes love to drink. . .a lot.  So, be careful if you ever make your way here. . .you will not win the chugging contest.  Don’t even try.

I send you lots of potent vibes from Uppsala.  They are good.

It’s lovely out there.
