Delicious joint…Vientiane–

BAM!  We love sandwiches…we especially love Vietnamese sandwiches–often called banh mi…so what a surprise to find this great joint in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. . .it’s called PVO–let’s check it out.

We arrive at PVO for lunch…located just across the street from Boris Bakery, a great French boulangerie in town…and the joint is packed, at least the ground floor space is packed–apparently this is a popular lunch spot for expats and locals alike.

We are directed upstairs to a breezy space with doors and windows open, ceiling fans spinning, and warm breezes inviting us to have a sit and enjoy–so we do.

We order: a whole pork banh mi, a big bowl of spicy soup, a skillet of sausages and eggs, some sticky rice, and some frozen ‘shakes’ to wash everything down with–I am doing the lemon frozen ‘shake’–mmmmm!

Everything arrives, and we gobble away. . .this stuff is good, real good…we could eat lunch here every day if we lived here and have no problem at all. . .plus, my lemon ‘shake’ is invigorating and delicious…not a shake in the dairy sense, but a shake in the frozen ice sense–just a big refreshing pile of smooth ice full of lemon/lime flavor–wonderful!

We are happy sitting up here with the warm breezes and the tasty grub and the easygoing vibes. . .this place ROCKS!

Please consider lunching at PVO some time whenever you find yourself hangin’ in Vientiane. . .the folks here will welcome you with big smiles, and you will leave with big smiles on your faces after such a satisfying lunch…jaaaaa!

Keep traveling cuz…

…it’s lovely out there.
