BOOM! This place gets our vote for the number one hotel in Vientiane, Laos…it’s called the Ansara Hotel…let’s have a look at it.
The Ansara is located on a sweet little side street just off the road that runs along the Mekong River…great location with lots of Buddhist vats, coffee shops, food stalls, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. all around us. There is quite the hustle and bustle going on out on the streets, but when we enter the compound of the Ansara all is peaceful and calm–extremely tranquillo.
We have one of the suites overlooking the whole property…lots of palm trees, bamboo trees, bushes, birds flying around and chirping away, the sound of monks chanting in the distance, the crisp refreshing pool beckoning us from our spacious room…it is extremely lovely here. In fact, we wouldn’t mind coming back and spending a whole month here just hanging out, sipping coffee, eating snacks on our terrace, and enjoying the easygoing passage of time. . .we have to add this to our list–mmmm, aaaahh!
The staff here are helpful and welcoming, the food served in the restaurant is outstanding–prepared by a resident chef from France, the room is solid and secure, and the pool refreshes everyday after being out and about exploring town…we look forward to coming back.
