Dhamaka is a fabulous Indian joint located in Essex Market down on Delancey Street in the lower east side section of Manhattan here in beautiful New York Citaaaaaaay! You gotta check this place out some time. . .it is really good.

We roll in on a Sunday…the place is packed with Indian families of all shapes, hues and sizes gobbling lots of tasty grub.

We get busy with the butter pepper garlic crab which is wonderful…extremely tasty…you want this in your belly…really, you do.

Next we do the beef short rib kebab with bone marrow butter…bone…marrow…butter. . .yes, soothing, rich, decadent and delicious. . .we wrap this meat slathered in butter with the bread and WOW–possibly the most magical bite of our meal…MAGICAL.

Then we do two giant tiger prawns…cooked perfectly…slathered in ‘amul’ butter, whatever that is, and WOWEEWOWOW, we are full of good soothing flavor…mmm, aaaahh!

And we end with a lamb shank slow-braised then placed in a clay pot with basmati rice for final cooking…GREAT DISH! Flavorful, soothing, comforting and delightful. . .we gobble the whole thing with no problem.

The whole meal is washed down with an Etna Bianco…white wine from the volcanic soils of Sicily–perfect with this volcanically delicious meal.

Check out Dhamaka the next time you are wandering around on the lower east side of Manhattan here in NYC…you will love this joint–I gar-ron-taaaayy!!
