Dhamaka is a fabulous Indian joint located in Essex Market down on Delancey Street in the lower east side section of Manhattan here in beautiful New York Citaaaaaaay! You gotta check this place out some time. . .it is really good.

We roll in on a Sunday…the place is packed with Indian families of all shapes, hues and sizes gobbling lots of tasty grub.

We get busy with the butter pepper garlic crab which is wonderful…extremely tasty…you want this in your belly…really, you do.

Next we do the beef short rib kebab with bone marrow butter…bone…marrow…butter. . .yes, soothing, rich, decadent and delicious. . .we wrap this meat slathered in butter with the bread and WOW–possibly the most magical bite of our meal…MAGICAL.

Then we do two giant tiger prawns…cooked perfectly…slathered in ‘amul’ butter, whatever that is, and WOWEEWOWOW, we are full of good soothing flavor…mmm, aaaahh!

And we end with a lamb shank slow-braised then placed in a clay pot with basmati rice for final cooking…GREAT DISH! Flavorful, soothing, comforting and delightful. . .we gobble the whole thing with no problem.

The whole meal is washed down with an Etna Bianco…white wine from the volcanic soils of Sicily–perfect with this volcanically delicious meal.

Check out Dhamaka the next time you are wandering around on the lower east side of Manhattan here in NYC…you will love this joint–I gar-ron-taaaayy!!

Dosa…delectable–

photo 2 photo 3 photo 5BAM!  The south Indian food at a spot called Tiffin Wallah on East 28th Street in Manhattan is tasty and satisfying.  The superstar dish here is something called a “dosa.”  Dosas are giant crepe-like pancakes made from rice batter and black lentils.  They can be stuffed with various spiced veggies of your choice or you can simply eat the dosa by itself with some tasty dipping sauces on the side.  Whichever version you gobble you can be sure that dosas will be light, delicious, and fun-fun-fun to devour.  So, head on over to Tiffin Wallah and ingest two or three of these things like I did. . .I know you will love them. . .really, I do.

I send you exotic vibes from Tiffin Wallah. . .feel them. . .they have the power to transport you to the south of India. . .mmmm, aaaaahh!

photo 5photo 2WHOA!  The absolute best Indian food at the moment in all of New York City can be gobbled at a place called Tamarind.  Extremely tasty, warm atmosphere, supremely friendly staff, and delicious Rieslings to wash it all down. . .mmmm, aaaaah!  We popped in here last night to celebrate my buddy’s birthday. . .he’s gettin’ a tad bit old so I have to feed him occasionally to be sure that he gets every last drop of goodness that Tamarind has to offer.  Yer velcome, my friend.  I love Tamarind, and you will too if you ever find yourself hangin’ out around the corner of Franklin and Hudson Streets down here in Tribeca.

I send you satisfying vibes from Tamarind in New York City. . .feel them. . .they will make your taste buds dance and tingle.
