Dining that makes us smile wide–

WOW!  Here we are puttin’ on a major feed at a 2-star joint called ‘Sylvestre’ located in the Hotel Thoumieux on Rue Saint Dominique in Paris. . .let’s check it out and see what’s what.

Sylvestre Wahid runs this dining spot…he is originally from Pakistan…his restaurant now has two Michelin stars…and it is easy to see why–because this whole place ROCKS!

The restaurant space is extremely cozy…we arrive and say we are the folks from room 16 with an 8 o’clock reservation…the captain says, “we know.”  Mmmm, aaaah. . .we are home once again.

We see Sylvestre himself sitting in the hotel lobby. . .we say hello to him. . .he says hello to us and announces that it is time for him to get to work now that we are here. . .obviously we fall in love with this dude immediately–really good vibe, he has.

2-star restaurants are supposed to be original and surprising in a good way…Sylvestre totally fits this description.  Once we are seated in a cozy corner–very comfortable–we order the chef’s Signature Menu…this includes items that helped Sylvestre achieve his two stars and become somewhat famous in town.

The food starts arriving. . .EVERYTHING is original, intriguing, and delicious.  We have bits of fish cooked in hot bees wax with some interesting seasoning added at the end–maybe the most wonderful item of the entire dinner…flavors that we can’t remember having before that make us smile real big like.  MMMM, this dude from Pakistan is rockin’ our worlds, and we have only just started.

The rest of the meal continues with more surprising and tasty preparations of fish, beets, crab, goji berries, morels, avocado, foie gras, caviar, cheeses, fruits, and honey. . .all mindblowingly amazing and full of flavor.  I can’t stop smiling as I write this. . .it is so good dining with Sylvestre Wahid.

Please, if you find yourself in Paris, and if it is at all possible, then it would be well worth your effort to find this place, book a table, and dine with Sylvestre.  You, too, will be smiling for a long long time after your meal is completed.

I send you magically uplifting vibes from Restaurant Sylvestre Wahid here in Paris. . .feel them. . .they are good for your everything.

Prestige Room…c’est bon–

BAM!  We land at CDG, we grab a cab, we head to our hotel here in the 7th arrondissement on the left bank in Paris–a joint called Hotel Thoumieux. . .let’s check it out and see what’s what.

Thoumieux is located on Rue Saint Dominique–a lively wonderful street with views of the Eiffel Tower to the west, and just a couple of blocks from the green in front of Les Invalides if we walk east.  Great location with lots to see, do, eat, and drink all around us. . .mmm, aaaaahh!

We are staying in the Prestige Room…it’s the largest space in the hotel, and it is on the top floor–no elevator.  I carry our bags up narrow staircases–typical in Paris–and VOILA–we are safely tucked away in our cozy hangout.  Good shower, lots of hot water, Aesop bathroom products, big comfy bed, and lots of windows that we can swing open to enjoy the warm April air and views of…a cracked wall–c’est bon…we love Paris!

Rue Saint Dominique is also just a couple of blocks from the Seine where we can walk along all day long taking in glorious views and enjoying coffees and wines wherever and whenever we like.

The main great thing about Hotel Thoumieux is that there is a 2-star restaurant here…a joint called ‘Sylvestre.’  A dude called Sylvestre Wahid originally from Pakistan is creating culinary magic on the premises–we have eaten here…a full report will follow in another post on this blog toot-sweet.  My short review for you now: we love it, it is great–eat with Sylvestre, and you will be smiling after your meal for a very very long time. . .super!!

And finally the staff at Thoumieux are sweet, friendly, and helpful…nice to be taken great care of here in Paris.

Please consider staying at Hotel Thoumieux during your next visit to the greatest city on Earth…you will love it as much as we do–I gar-ron-taaaayy!

It’s lovely out there.
