POW! Here we are gobbling away at a place called “Hao Noodle & Tea by Madam Zhu’s Kitchen”…yes, that is the full name of the place–quite a mouthful but totally worth remembering because the grub here is OUTSTANDING…mmmm, aaaahh!
Madam Zhu’s is located on Sixth Avenue between Greenwich and Waverly…a totally chill little restaurant with tons of cozy energy, lots of attentive and welcoming staff, and a load of good stuff to eat. During this visit we are ingesting egg skin pork dumplings…Szechuan chicken chunks…stuffed chicken wings…qongquing chicken soup with chewy noodles…spicy mushrooms…sauteed spicy pea shoots…Madam Zhu’s Special Spicy Fish Soup–MAGICAL…and a tasty dessert of coconut bubbles with walnuts, banana, and other fruits…mmmm, aaaahh! All of this is washed down with, believe it or not, a white Sancerre. . .kind of a kooky choice, but we find a way to make it work–as we always do.
So, overall, you should know that Madam Zhu’s is relatively new here in New York…it is being reviewed totally favorably by many of our esteemed food writers…and the place is rising in popularity simply because this food is GREAT–my wife and I look at each other as we are eating, and we feel like we are dining somewhere in Asia. . .totally transporting.
Please consider eating at Hao Noodle & Tea by Madam Zhu’s Kitchen the next time you find yourself on the edge of the West Village section of Manhattan here in beautiful New York City. . .you will love it, or Madam Zhu will pop you in the head with a wok–hao, hao!!
