BOOM! Friends come to New York for a visit…we gotta feed them some good stuff…nothing better than an Italian feast over at Rafele’s on the corner of Seventh Avenue and Morton Street in the West Village section of Manhattan–jaaaa!!
We inhale all of the following items: meatballs in red sauce–my favorite in the city…calamari with shrimp and clams and herbal goodness–delectable…prosciutto on warm puffy bread–magical…wide pasta with mushrooms–mmm…seafood soup–yum…seafood pasta–aaaahh…and a porchetta that is our new number-one in town–absolutely wonderful! Then for dessert we gotta do an affogato, a tiramisu, and some sorbet–mmmhhmmmm! Everything is washed down with Gavi Di Gavi and heart-warming limoncello at the end. This meal and the staff and the overall vibe in Rafele’s are all spot-on…but the best part of the evening is eating and kibitzing with my beautiful wife and two of her best friends–what a great way to enjoy the passage of time.
Please make your way over to Rafele’s on Seventh Avenue the next time you find yerself lookin’ for somethin’ to feed on in the West Village…you will love it here–I gar-ron-taaaaayy!!
