KABOOMY! Here we are gobblin’ away at a place called the Pleasant Ridge Store located on County Road Z out on the edge of Dodgeville town in the heart of dairy country, and we could not be happier–jaaaa!
Pleasant Ridge Store has been doin’ business out here for about seventeen years now. . .it is owned and operated by a dude called Charley. Charley is a farmer who can cook extremely well…he does great burgers from locally sourced cattle–this is easy as there are cattle EVERYWHERE out here…he does a great fish fry–we have the cod, and it is DELECTABLE…he does ribs every Thursday–supposedly quite good drawing folks from far and wide…he does reubens, po-boys, cheesesteaks, grilled chicken, tasty-ass french fries, cole slaw, cottage cheese, and particularly tasty spicy chicken wings that make us smile real-big-like. . .mmmm, aaahh!
All of this goodness can be washed down with most Wisconsin beers of your choice…plus one-off kegs of special local brews that will make you grow big and strong. I am driving though, so I just settle for bottle of unsweetened iced-tea–PERFECT!
This is the kind of place that we search for when traveling throughout the world–a totally local place that has no pretense and tons of desire to serve patrons with the tastiest food that they can produce…all in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere–the added benefit here is the magnificent view of America’s Dairyland…this truly is a pleasant ridge.
Please consider dining at the Pleasant Ridge Store the next time you find yourself in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. . .you will love everything here–I gar-ron-taaaaay!
