Tullibee is the main restaurant in the Hewing Hotel located in the North Loop warehouse section of Minneapolis on North Washington Avenue. These folks really know what they are doing. . .Minnesota is full of lots of Nordic-type folks so it makes sense that there is now a good restaurant in town that celebrates Nordic-inspired cuisine. Our meal here in includes duck meatballs with radishes and a tasty broth…duck confit served with a Nordic bread called leftse–very nice…a hunk of cod that was sort of poached and slightly overcooked–good nevertheless…a ‘pork arm’ that had some of the crispiest pork skin that I have ever gobbled–totally delightful…and a deconstructed sweet potato parfait that was ok. . .all of this is washed down with a Barolo because we love full-bodied reds with our light Nordic fare–jaaaa!!
This is a good place to eat while here in Minneapolis…the staff are nice and welcoming to us…the vibe is relaxed…the noise level is a real low hum…and the food is making us go, “aaaahh!” Seek out a table at Tullibee. . .you will be satisfied–I gar-ron-taaaayy!!
