Pit stop: Prairie du Chien–

IMG_4383 IMG_4386 IMG_4387 IMG_4388BOOM!  We’re toolin’ along the Great River Road, and we feel a little peckish. . .perfect time for us to have a look around the town of Prairie du Chien located right smack dab on the Mississippi River about 60 miles south of La Crosse.  We pop in, snap some pix down by the old train station on the banks of the river, then grab a burger at Rowdy’s D & D–noted on a sign outside the joint as having the “2nd best burger in town”. . .can’t pass this up.  We gobble a couple of cheeseburgers, wash ’em down with unsweetened iced tea, and head on our merry way.  These burgers are tasty–we like them–jaaaa!. . .but probably 2nd best because we see a long line outside another place right around the corner called Pete’s Burgers or something like that. . .wonderful fragrance of ground beef cooking away. . .folks look extremely satisfied–we will have to check this place out the next time we pass through.

Also, the next time we are in town I am gonna find our what ‘D & D’ stands for at Rowdy’s.  I promise. . .I will do this for you.  Cheers!

So, I send you 2nd-best vibes from the heart of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. . .feel them. . .they are full of first-rate joy and magic.
