The backbar is a huge creation of carved mahogany and old mirrors. . .really beautiful. We are told that the backbar was built for a different building and had to be moved here very carefully when the owners decided to do a bar in this space, and I am happy to report that they did a magnificent job with the move.
Piggy’s occupies a totally refurbished 19th century warehouse located on Front Street with views of the Mississippi River. . .the restaurant inside is massive and extremely quiet…too quiet for us. . .so we prefer hangin’ down in the bar, sipping on local brews like La Crosse Lager, gnoshing on house made potato chips, gobbling bacon-wrapped shrimp, and chatting with the friendly and knowledgeable bartenders all while gazing at the magnificent backbar. . .mmm, aaaahh!
If you ever find yourself wanderin’ around in La Crosse lookin’ to wet yer whistle, then be sure to visit the bar in Piggy’s Restaurant. . .you will want to spend lots of time here sippin’ and contemplatin’ the universe–jaaa!
