BOOM! New Glarus beers can only be found in the state of Wisconsin. The owners of the New Glarus Brewing Company, Deb and Dan Carey, won’t sell their beers outside of Wisconsin because they don’t want to deal with the Byzantine rules, regulations, and taxes involved in distributing alcohol products from state to state in the U.S. They are on record as saying quite simply that they just want to make great world-class beer here in Wisconsin so that they can take care of their families, friends, and employees in the best and simplest way possible. The Carey’s are quite happy with staying local. . .they could go nationwide and even global, but why deal with the headaches when all is quite good right here, right now? No reason to, really. . .I say, “SALUTI” to the Careys and their approach to the brewing business.
People love New Glarus beer. In fact folks love it so much that a number of bar owners have attempted to sell this beer in other states like Minnesota and New York. In both of these cases the bar owners were caught selling ‘unlicensed’ alcohol products and fined heavily. . .so don’t go gettin’ any crazy ideas while you are sippin’ this good stuff. Visit Google to learn more about the New Glarus Brewery, Deb and Dan Carey, and their business philosophy. . .lots of fun!
They have been in business since 1993, and they are going as strong as ever.
