MMM! We love all of the markets of the world, and here in Mineral Point, Wisconsin they have a wonderful farmers’ market every Saturday morning that is making us happy. . .mmm, aaaahh! This market is small and focused. . .there is one guy who has tons of produce: lettuce, ramps, gigantic scallions, onions, garlic, carrots, beans, etc. and so on. . .there is one lady who has the fruit of the moment–last week she had strawberries, glorious strawberries–we could not stop eating these succulent and flavorful little babies–they are all long gone now. . .another guy who has his own salsa: we tried some, and it is good, but my favorite Green Mountain Gringo Roasted Garlic Salsa is still number one in my book. . .some ladies selling coffee and cakes. . .a young dude selling sunflower oil–he put the hard sell on me, but I resisted–maybe I will try some next week. . .folks selling herb plants. . .and folks selling clay pots, paintings, and other crafty-type items. All-in-all this is a perfectly easygoing and soothing farmers’ market experience. . .we hope to pop in for more items throughout the summer.
I send you smalltown-with-a-big-heart vibes from the Mineral Point Farmers’ Market. . .feel them. . .they are full of vitality and joy.
