BAM! Alright, we have just arrived in Dubuque, Iowa, and we are hungry. We ask someone on the street where we should get breakfast, and she says, “Burnt Toast.” So BOOM we pop in, and sure enough they serve up a delicious batch of corned beef hash with extremely runny poached eggs and delicious sausage gravy…this comes with sour dough toast that is not burnt at all but toasted a perfect golden brown with lots of melting butter slathered on. . .mmmm, aaaahh! They also do a thing called a breakfast skillet with tons of delicious breakfast items cooked and mashed together…my wife inhales the huevos rancheros skillet while I work on my hash skillet. All of this goodness is washed down with bottomless cups of coffee. . .just the way we like it.
So, if you ever find yourself wanderin’ around in downtown Dubuque, and you are hungry for some breakfast, then I recommend that you hit Burnt Toast. . .you will love it here–I gar-ron-taaay!!–or I will refund the twenty bucks that this place will set you back for all of the delectable breakfast items that I have outlined above…totally reasonable and totally tasty.
