BAM! John worked at Lombardi’s–NYC’s first pizzeria–back in the early 20th century. Lombardi and John had a falling out, and John started his own pizzeria on Bleecker Street in 1929. John’s original place still pumps out respected pizza pies to this very day. . .every now and then we pop in here and order a pie to take home and gobble just like you see us doing above. It is important to keep things simple here…we go with the large pepperoni pie. . .the crust is thin and crispy, the sauce is clean and tomatoey, the cheese is cheesy, and the pepperoni are succulent and meaty. . .we gobble this whole thing in no time at all.
If you want a taste of “old” New York, then pop into John’s on Bleecker Street, order a pie, and devour a bit of history. . .mmm, aaaahh!
I send you totally satisfying pizza vibes from John’s. . .feel them. . .they will make you happy to be alive.
