BAM! There was a full moon on Saturday, there are two days of celebratory dancing happening in front of the Three Kings monument, Chiang Mai University graduates are walking around in their caps and gowns (apparently January is graduation season here), food stalls are everywhere, lots of traditional garb is on display, and the crown Princess is in town attending graduation ceremonies. . .WOW!. . .day 104 of our nomadic wandering is extremely festive, and we LOVE IT!
There is color everywhere, the breezes are warm-ish–though a stormy cold front is preparing to move through town, people are chit-chatting, folks are gobbling snacks–greeting each other. . .the Land of Smiles is full of smiles today. . .but always there is something perking below the surface, something that we are not privy to as farangs, something that we will probably never know, but it will be fun to spend more time here and see how deep we can get. . .mmm, aaahh! Maybe it is best not to get too deep. . .we shall see. . .in the meantime we say, “let the festivities continue!!”
I send you simmeringly serene vibes from Chiang Mai. . .feel them. . .they are deep and dense and fascinating.
