BAM! Just behind the Three Kings Monument here in the Old Quarter of Chiang Mai there is a lane full of soup joints, dessert stalls, grilled meat purveyors, fruit hawkers, etc.. . .all of it totally delectable. But this place is special: they have been serving delicious fish ball tom yum soup for over forty-five years. . .we sample a couple of bowls, and it is easy to see why they have been in business for so long–this bowl of goodness ROCKS! It is full of tom yum flavor, spicy, slightly sweet, very savory, and full of lots of gobble-worthy fish balls. . .as the sign says, you gotta be careful cuz “Fishball Jump!”. . .so eat with care–jaaaa!!
If you ever find yourself wanderin’ around in Chiang Mai lookin’ for somethin’ good to jam into yer gullet, then be sure to seek this place out. . .not sure what the name is, just look for the sign with the soup bowl above and sign cautioning you regarding jumping fishballs, and you will be good-to-go.
I send you mouth-watering vibes from Chiang Mai. . .feel them. . .they will fuel you throughout the day.
