BAM! This place gets our vote for the number one dining spot in all of Phnom Penh, Cambodia: Malis. Malis is the Khmer word for “jasmine”, and it is the perfect name for this fabulous restaurant. . .they got the jasmine rice happening, they got jasmine infused into the soups, stews, and stir-fries, and the jasmine ice cream is totally refreshing and delectable. . .we’re feelin’ all jasminy–mmm, aaahh!
A guy called Chef Meng runs the kitchen, and he is pumping out lots of extremely tasty Khmer dishes. . .they have a bamboo shoot soup here–called simply ‘Cambodian Soup’–that is one of the tastiest soups that I have ever had. . .absolutely my favorite item on the menu. . .so good, in fact, that we came back for a second visit so I could slurp up all of this soupy goodness again before we leave town. . .jaaa! The staff is great, the setting is cozy, the wines are reasonable and delectable, and again, the food is fabulous. We love dining at Malis, and I strongly recommend that you hit this place if you ever find yourself lookin’ to put a good feed on in the capital of Cambodia.
I send you refined and delicious vibes from Malis. . .feel them. . .they are most-worthy of your attention.
