POW! After a day of strolling around in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, we are hungry. . .so, we hit the number one restaurant in town, Malis, for a major feeding session, and we are totally satisfied and impressed. It is fun to eat here for dinner after having sampled a number of street food stalls throughout the day. . .on the street we gobble Cambodian pho bo and pho ga, pork belly soup with soy sauce eggs, stir-fried veggies with noodles, pork soup with rice, etc. and so on, and it is all good. But here at Malis, a dude called Chef Meng is taking all of these dishes and elevating them to a higher level. . .we gobble something he calls traditional Cambodian soup with a rich broth and fresh crunchy veggies–which I absolutely love. . .we gobble his seafood fried rice Cambodian-style–totally delectable. . .seafood curry, Khmer pepper crab–as good as any crab in Singapore. . .homemade red bean, jasmine, cocunut ice creams, Khmer iced coffee, etc.. . .and the whole meal is washed down with a lovely Rhone white–they still love their French wines here even though the French authorities are long gone. . .mmm, aaaahh! We love Malis, and you will, too, if you ever find yourself lookin’ to put a tasty feed on here in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh.
I send you fragrant and flavorful vibes from Malis Restaurant. . .feel them. . .they will put a great big smile on your face.
