APA KABAR! We fly for two hours from Singapore and land in Yogyakarta on the island of Java here in Indonesia. Yogyakarta is the closest airport to the world’s largest Buddhist monument–a thing called Borobudur–which we will be visiting tomorrow. Today is for settling in at our wonderful hotel: the Plataran Resort Borobudur. The Plataran is spectacular. . .we are staying in a traditional Indonesian-style villa. . .the well-dressed dude above gives us a wonderful “Sugeng Rawuh” (‘Welcome’ in Indonesian) upon our arrival. . .room service is spectacular–lots of Indonesian delights. . .the setting is glorious with Javanese hills all around us. . .the Islamic call to prayers is resonating throughout the valley in front our villa contributing to the other-worldly atmosphere. . .the people are all warm and welcoming. . .AND we can see Borobudur itself off in the distance–tomorrow we will walk in, around, and on this magnificent structure. . .jaaa!
I send you Buddha vibes from Java. . .feel them. . .they are oh-most-worthy of your attention.
