Trevi Fountain…under renovation–

IMG_0005 IMG_0004So, we are walking along heading toward the Trevi Fountain, and it is quiet…very quiet.  I am thinking, “why don’t I hear the loud rush and splashing of water?” as we approach the piazza in front of the fountain, and then BOOM! we see why there is no splashing because this baby is currently undergoing repairs and renovation. . .basta!  When it is functioning the Trevi Fountain is one of the most spectacular sights in all of Rome and definitely one of the most jaw-dropping fountains anywhere on Earth, but this evening it is quiet and calm. . .we throw a coin over the construction barrier and make a wish anyway, and seeing the thousands of coins laying on the construction tarps, we know that we are not the only ones looking to tap into the magical powers of this fountain even in a dormant state. . .mmmm, aaaahh!  Be sure to check out the Trevi Fountain whenever you are in Rome. . .you will love it no matter what state it happens to be in.

I send you formidable yet quiet vibes from the Trevi Fountain in Rome. . .feel them. . .they are as powerful and uplifting as ever, if you believe in magic.

It’s lovely out there.

  1. I think this has been a long, slow process. This renovation was underway when i was there in July 2014, I am hoping when i return in November this year it will be splashing and watery again 🙂

    • Yes, always a long and slow process when dealing with sculptures and pipes that are hundreds of years old. . .no need to rush. Definitely will be great if all is up and running when you return in November. Even more importantly, I hope for your sake that the airport is back to normal. . .the arrivals hall is a mess at the moment due to recent fires. Anyway, still worth all the trouble to get there and enjoy one of world’s truly great towns. Safe travels!
