This thing is grand and massive and glorious. . .it’s the Teatro Massimo here in Palermo, Sicily–the largest opera house in all of Italy. . .yes, even bigger than La Scala in Milan. . .and it is the third largest in all of Europe. . .oh boy! Please come here and see a show. . .you will love!
Teatro Massimo opened in 1897, and it is fully functional and rockin-n-rollin’ right this very day. The acoustics are supposed to be magnificent, the interior decor is stupendous, and all singers and musicians apparently love playing here. A bit of pop culture for you: if you ever find yourself watching The Godfather, Part III, then look for this baby near the end. . .Michael Corleone attends an opera performance here as his soldiers take care of business to close out the trilogy. . .saluti!
I send you huge passionate vibes from the Teatro Massimo in Palermo. . .feel them. . .they will make you walk a little taller today.
