Here we are checkin’ out the Cathedral of Palermo. This thing was first built in 1185 or so, and it has undergone many changes, renovations, and additions over the centuries resulting in a totally impressive version of a major Christian church. The ‘Cattredale’ feels majestic and substantial and resilient just like the residents of this wonderful town. The inside is as impressive as the outside, but I love just standing out here in the blazing Sicilian sun, gazing up at this glorious structure, and letting my imagination run wild with images of all of the folks who have made their way in and around this building. . .praying, meditating, sitting, breathing, scheming, organizing, and generally doing their best to behave in a relatively honorable way while faced with the mysteries of existence. . .mmmm, aaaahh. . .I offer a hearty “saluti!” to one and all.
I send you formidable vibes from the Cattredale di Palermo. . .feel them. . .they are full of magic and vitality.
