Palermo has a lovely waterfront overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. . .Palermo has grand boulevards, great restaurants, great drinking spots, great churches–more than any other town in Sicily–great markets, and most importantly, great people. Admittedly, it is a bit rough, gritty, and beat down here, but with a little work and sense of adventure, one can find the charms of this city that lie just below the surface. Don’t ask too many questions, don’t walk around eye-ballin’ folks. . .just flow along and be respectful, and this place will welcome you with open arms just like all of the other towns on this amazing island.
I send you surprisingly chilled-out vibes from La Cala in Palermo, Sicily. . .feel them. . .they will grab onto you and never let go, if you allow them to.
