#1 seafood…Catania, Sicily–

IMG_0023 IMG_0030 IMG_0015 IMG_0022BAM!  Here we are puttin’ on a major feed at a restaurant called Osteria Antica Marina located next to the fish market in Catania, Sicily. . .jaaaa!!. . .this place rocks!

Above you see some shrimp on a plate. . .they have been marinated only–not cooked. . .they taste like no shrimp that I have ever eaten before–it feels like I have never tasted a shrimp before in my entire life. . .these babies have an almost silky texture, they are cool–not hot, and they are full of delectable flavor–like the sea and candy and salt and gloriousness all wrapped up in each individual bite.  Then I suck on the heads. . .oh-man-oh-man-oh-man–absolutely succulent. . .life-changing.  Not sure that I can ever eat shrimp anywhere else ever again, but I will try.

In addition to the shrimp, we also gobble sliced tomatoes known here as “tomato salad.”  Again, it is like we have never tasted tomatoes before. . .rich, juicy, firm, and full of flavor. . .mmm, aaaahh!

Oh and we also eat sea urchin pasta, spaghetti with mussels and algae, swordfish, red snapper, and wash it all down with the house white wine–only ten Euros per bottle–yes, I’ll have another and another and another pleeeease!

Anyway, I send you delicious vibes from Osteria Antica Marina. . .feel them. . .better yet, come here and experience them yourself. . .you will enjoy.

It’s lovely out there.
