The wind is howling, the temperature is about 12 celsius, the clouds are ever-changing, and it pisses down rain every now-and-then. . .aye, this is perfect weather for whisky sipping! Plus, we have some amazing geological formations to meditate on: the Stacks of Duncansby. The Stacks are monolithic piles of sedimentary rock that have been formed by the wind and the rain over millions of years, and here they are for our viewing pleasure. . .niiiice! We stroll through vast fields filled with sheep, not many people around, and it feels like we have all of John o’Groats to ourselves. The few locals we see are working in their fields and barns while we contemplate the mystery of the universe from this magnificent spot. . .we are lucky to have the opportunity to visit this special place at the edge of the Earth, or at least what feels like the edge. . .but it’s not the edge, really, just another spot on our teeny-tiny planet that evokes big thoughts, big feelings, big connections. . .man, I could use a good wee dram of the water of life. . .I think we will head back to our inn and sip on one or three. Cheers!
I send you big vibes from the Stacks of Duncansby here in John o’Groats, Scotland. . .feel them. . .they will help you get through the day.
