SHAZAM! This place absolutely rocks!! Above you see us puttin’ a major feed on at a place here in New York City called “Mission Chinese Food.” At the very top you see me with the rockin’ owner/chef, Danny Bowien. . .Danny is serving up the tastiest Chinese food in all of New York City, period. Yes, this is my humble opinion, but a few other folks agree: the James Beard Award folks, the NYTimes food critic, the New York Magazine food critic, my lovely lady, and so many others who pack this place every night lookin’ for high-octane Szechuan-style cooking and beyond. If you love Chinese food, as we do, then you must eat here at some point in your existence on Earth. . .you will love–I gar-ron-taaaaay!!
Things to eat at Mission include: ma-po tofu–the best, chong-quing chicken wings–possibly our favorite wings on Earth, thrice-cooked bacon, beef brisket stir-fry, pastrami stir-fry, beggar’s duck–baked inside a clay casing that Danny breaks with a mallet table-side–so fun and delectable!, spicy mongolian long beans, any whole baked fish, any fried rice dish, cheese and tomato pizza–his new space has a wood-burning oven–gotta use the space you are given, right?, etc. and so on. EVERYTHING here is tasty. . .gobble away. . .and be sure to say “hey” to Danny when you see him, he will love your support and gratitude.
I send you bold vibes from Mission Chinese Food. . .feel them. . .they are not for the faint of heart.
