YES! We are back in Yangon for a night or two, and we are incredibly happy to find ourselves holed-up in the Savoy Hotel right smack-dab in the center of town. The rooms and halls are appointed with lots of warm wood, the pool is chilled-out and cozy, and the people here are making us feel right at home attending to all of our needs, i.e., bringing us lots of good drinks whenever we ask for them. . .jaaaa!
The location of the Savoy is great: right across the street is a club called ‘Mojo’ where they have a blues jam every Monday night led by a really good guitarist/singer from Switzerland–I jam with him and the vibe is real good. . .also, the Shwedagon Pagoda is a ten-minute walk away–we stroll on over and spend lots of time soaking up the peaceful atmosphere and magnificence of this 2,200-year-old structure. . .mmmm, aaahh! Myanmar has seduced us, and we are never leaving. . .if only!!
I send you inviting vibes from the Savoy in Yangon. . .feel them. . .they will sooth you like your momma’s milk.
