Htilominlo Temple…Bagan–

IMG_0072  IMG_0068 IMG_0066IMG_0071WOW!  This is easily one of the most magical temples in all of Bagan: Htilominlo Temple.  The temple is named after King Htilominlo who built it around the year 1211 or so.  It is full of hallways and inner sanctums that lead one deeper and deeper inside. . .only the holiest and noblest of folks could go into the most inner areas. . .statues of Buddha are everywhere. . .the exterior is exquisitely carved and decorated. . .and the best part is that this thing is still here 800 years later for us to enjoy.  I love the Htilominlo Temple, and you will too if you ever find yourself hangin’ out in the vast landscape of Bagan, Myanmar.

To see more amazing images from around our teeny-tiny planet simply click on a location of your choice in the category menu on the ‘About’ page of this blog. . .dive on in. . .so much to see and soooo little time.

It’s lovely out there.
