Fly and be free–

IMG_1643 IMG_1644 IMG_1645Here is another thing to do at Sule Pagoda in the heart of Yangon, Myanmar: purchase a sparrow from a girl sitting in the entranceway, walk to the sidewalk outside the pagoda, make a wish, then release the sparrow. . .watch the sparrow fly away–free at last–and hope the bird carries your wish to the stars. . .or at least someplace where it can evade capture by small children roaming around town in the employ of said pagoda.  Cheers!

I send you free and clear vibes from Yangon. . .feel them. . .they are to be cherished.

  1. It is a Buddhist practice. Buddhists belive they get merit for saving a life by releasing a bird. But for me i feel bad for the birds by this catch-and-release trade.

    • So I made a wish AND I get merit. . .this sounds wonderful to me! Right, the catch-and-release trade is a questionable aspect of the whole thing. I choose not to think about it too hard and simply enjoy the entire process of doing a tiny bit of good wherever I can. Hope you are well–
