POW! We arrive early in the morning here at Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar–the heart and soul of Burmese Buddhism. The sun is popping up over the horizon, and it slowly bathes the entire Shwedagon site in crisp light causing golden structures to shimmer with magical vitality. . .mmmm, aaaahh! Folks are meditating in nooks and crannies everywhere we look. . .folks are chanting in vestibules and chapel-like structures all around us. . .folks are exchanging pleasantries with friends and family. . .folks are heading out to conduct the business of the day after soaking up a bit of Buddha-energy determined to do some good or avoid some bad until the next day arrives. The whole scene here is lovely, human, and sweet. I love hanging out at the Shwedagon Pagoda, and I know that you will, too, if you ever find yourself lookin’ for some good vibes in Yangon, Myanmar.
Make a plan to visit Myanmar. . .the country is open for business and eager to welcome you. Min-ga-la-bar!
