The Ear Inn has been servin’ drinks to thirsty folks like me for nearly two hundred years now. It’s located on the far western end of Spring Street–you gotta really wanna drink here. . .folks rarely just ‘stumble upon’ this place. The Ear Inn is about a block or two from the current bank of the Hudson River, but this spot used to be the bank of the Hudson way back in the 19th century. Landfill has been dumped here to create more habitable land on this western edge of Manhattan. . .lots of fun to imagine the goings on here over the past two centuries as one sits at the old bar and sips away. . .mmmm, aaaahh! I love doin’ some daytime sippin’ at the Ear, and you will too if you ever find yourself wanderin’ around the far western edge of Soho lookin’ for an ‘istoric bar to while away the hours in.
I send you warm and rustic vibes from the Ear Inn. . .feel them. . .they will help you live a long and healthy life.
