KAZOWY! For some of the tastiest Mexican food in New York City you gotta check out Empellon Cocina over on First Avenue and 6th Street in the East Village section of Manhattan. This is not some run-of-the-mill burrito or taco place. . .a chef called Alex Stupak is serving up bold flavors in dishes that are created with care and passion. How do I know that these dishes are created with care and passion?. . .cuz we can taste it! Guacamole with pistachios–fun. . .raw thinly sliced mushrooms with spicy sauces underneath them–wild and crazy. . .chicken stuffed with chorizo–muy bien. . .spicy braised lamb belly–soothing and explosive at the same time. . .and on and on it goes here. The margaritas are made with smoked salt. . .I luuuuv smoked salt. . .and they even serve bottles of Victoria beer–the people’s beer of Mexico–jaaa! I love gobbling Mexican goodness at this place, and I am confident that you will too if you ever find yourself wandering around in the East Village lookin’ for some good south-of-the-border grub.
I send you excited vibes from Empellon Cocina. . .feel them. . .they will perk you right up.
