Brunch at Osteria Morini on Lafayette Street in the Soho section of Manhattan continues to blow us away. At top you see my plate of three poached eggs on top of beds of spinach sitting on top of delicate bread disks of some sort with the whole thing smothered in hollandaise sauce. . .oh, and I have a pile of pancetta (Italian bacon) accompanying the whole thing just for kicks–this dish is called “maranello,” and it is outrageously good. Below my maranello you see my dining partner’s bowl of cannelloni smothered with a creamy tomato sauce and topped with a fried egg, cuz it’s brunch–this, too, is outrageously good. I find myself dreaming about these dishes during the week. . .so much better than dreaming about world conflict, human struggle, or economic disparity. I love brunching at Osteria Morini, and you will too if you ever find yourself wandering around on Lafayette Street lookin’ for somethin’ to gobble on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
I send you delectable vibes from Morini. . .feel them. . .they will help you enjoy the passage of time.
