BOOM! Over the weekend, I turned 51. . .just like that. So, we had to put a feed on at Gurney’s out in Montauk, Long Island, New York. Gurney’s is a venerable old beach resort, inn, and spa on Old Montauk Highway. . .the Monti family sold the place about a year ago to some large hotel management group, and I gotta tell you they are doin’ a good job. Lots of renovations have happened and are happening. . .the beach itself is still pristine and glorious. . .the staff and service are outstanding. . .and the restaurant still cranks out delectable dishes like whole broiled lobster, lobster and truffle mac-n-cheese, new england clam chowder, simply-grilled arctic char, and even buffalo chicken wings. . .plus, they have an on-site bakery that can deliver any baked goods that your little heart desires–like, perhaps, a birthday cake. . .mmmm, aaaahh! We love Gurney’s in Montauk, and we know that you will too if you ever find yourself wandering around near the far eastern end of the south fork of Long Island lookin’ for a place to chill.
I send you celebratory vibes from Gurney’s. . .feel them. . .they are good for you.
