Day 100…Wat Suan Dok–

IMG_0760 IMG_0759 IMG_0753 IMG_0747BAM!  Here is another new wat for us on our one hundredth day of nomadic wandering around Southeast Asia. . .this one is called Wat Suan Dok, and it is magnificent.  This wat is located on Suthep Road just a bit west of the Old Quarter of Chiang Mai. . .it is very easy to find because from the road you can see the large golden stupa or chedi gleaming majestically under the midday sun. . .mmmm, aaaahh!  We feel drawn in by this, and we yield to the urge to check it out. . .the chedi is surrounded by lots of white arches and smaller stupas, and there is also a graveyard of sorts located within some white walls and archways–all quite dramatic and alluring.

After viewing the large golden chedi we then enter the main temple building which is built in a large A-frame open-air style. . .within the A-frame structure we find lots of large standing and seated Buddhas ready for our contemplation. . .the pillars are adorned with sparkling stones, and they are painted purple and red and gold. . .the floor is clean and shiny and cool. . .the breezes are warm and welcoming–we are happy here. . .we can stay here a long time with no worries, no cares, no concerns, only the desire to contemplate being good, only the desire to send out sweet vibes of joy and gratitude. . .we send these vibes to you right NOW–feel them, they are as good as it gets.

One hundred days on the road have helped us move beyond time. . .days, weeks, minutes, hours, and moments all flow in and out and around each other and mean less to us as individual units–we attempt to embrace flow everywhere.  Arbitrariness becomes more and more apparent in all that surrounds day-to-day human life–we see this more clearly every day. . .the more we see this the easier it becomes to move away from the arbitrary and to embrace the essential wherever we can find it.  We can live whatever life we want to. . .you can live whatever life you want to. . .just seek it out, and do it…live it…be it…make it real for yourself.  We look forward to the next one hundred days, and the next, and the next. . .so much more good to come. . .feel the flow–jaaaa!!
